Seller's Notes:

THIS IS A 280-sl. Here we have a lovely Benz that has had the same lady owner for decades. She preferred the ease of her Porsches' top and this car has been languishing for 5 years now. It is an original grey market car imported to the US with quite a bit of difficulty. As a result it has the desirable small bumpers that transform it from garish to sleek. The car has never failed its owner, most likely as a result of good scheduled maintenance. The six cylinder is peppy and the passing gear gets the Benz moving rapidly for a heavy vehicle. I just hopped in and hit the highway having been assured by the previous owners it was up to snuff. There are no odd creaks or groans coming from the suspension and it holds the road well with good tires and brakes. I went from sea level to 1500 feet for the photos, the brakes slow the car well and the pedal is firm. The Dash and woodwork may need your attention if you wish to take it up as notch. There is a Dash cover and for a do it yourselfer replacing the veneer may prove satisfying. The odometer has stopped working. Mileage can be tracked thru the records to a point if desired. This may be a good first car for a beginning driver. This was actually the plan for the previous owners. The car looks very sharp and has great presence. There are enough dings that a little bruise won't be a heartbreaker. The acceleration is by no means astonishing. This is a heavy vehicle and the drivers positioning is confidence inspiring. If you wish to look good and feel good, look no further, your chariot awaits. Harris. VIN#WDB1070421A010574
